These sermons are presented as originally prepared by Rev. Boyd G. Coday and his wife Mary Lee Coday.

The Codays faithfully pastored a small handful of churches in the 50’s and early 60’s across Iowa and Missiouri. First Assembly in Saint Clair, Missiouri was their last church. It was the church that Boyd and his young son, Michael Dean, built together. It still stands today, but is now owned by the St. Clair, Missiouri school district.

After Rev. Boyd G. Coday passed away in the early 60’s, Mary Lee went to work for Evangelist Oral Roberts who was starting a Bible School in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was a friend to the Roberts’ family and eventually became Oral’s Sr. Prayer Partner. She answered the difficult mail sent to Oral Roberts. If she was not able to answer a question, she would take it to Oral for his reply.

Mary Lee passed away in 2007. She spent her last days living with her only child, Michael Dean, just around the corner from her only Grand Daughter, Merrie Jolene, in Owasso, OK. She was finally laid to rest in a spot reserved for her 40 years earlier next to her beloved Boyd at Greenlawn in Springfield, MO.

The last time I saw her, I leaned down and she grabbed my cheeks while sitting in her chair. I earnestly looked into her eyes while she said goodbye without whispering a word. I have a hard time thinking about her without remembering her favorite encouragement… “Love each other, be good to each other, and put Jesus first.”
